All swimmers attending training (land or pool) or in a competition are under the direction and control of the coach/coaches present and must follow instructions given under the authority of the coach/coaches.
Attendance at all training sessions is expected unless agreed with the Squad/Head Coach
Advise Squad coach of non-attendance at training
Swimmers must attend at least 75% of training sessions per month
Swimmers should be on poolside 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the session. Use this time to prepare for the sessionAny swimmer with an injury that precludes them from any aspect of training must ensure that they make their Squad coach aware at the beginning of the session.
Land training is an integral part of the training programme and top squad swimmers are expected to attend and to participate in this aspect of training.
Arrive promptly for training with appropriate kit
You may swim only in the correct training session for your squad unless you have the Coaches permission to attend an alternative session.
Be on poolside and report to a club coach 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the warm up.
Swimmers should ensure that they tidy up any rubbish
Do not argue directly with the decisions of Officials or lifeguards. Coaches will make all official protests and ask any necessary questions.
All swimmers must stay within the confines of competition areas. Do not wander off - stay with your team mates. If you need to leave the Team area your must first ask a coach for permission.
Show good sportsmanship at all times.
Personal Appearance at competitions
Club clothing should be worn at all competitions where appropriate.
Alloa ASC caps must be worn when representing the club at competitions
For medal presentations, club clothing must be worn.
General Behaviour and Personal Conduct
Transportation, possesson or use of alcohol, tobacco products or illegal drugs is forbidden by those under age as defined by law.
Use or purchase of drugs or banned substances are strictly forbidden
Swimmers, at all times, will show sportsmanship and be respectful towards coaches, poolside helpers, officials, other swimmers, team mates and members of the public.
Language in relevant group or public situations must always be appropriate and socially acceptable.Swearing and name-calling is not acceptable. Bullying will not be tolerated.
Behaviour and personal conduct must at all times be of a high standard. Any other behaviour, as defined by an adult, is unacceptable. During training and competitions, in changing areas and entering and leaving a venue, when representing your club.
It is important that all medication being currently taken or allergies are reported to the Squad/Head Coach.
In the event of any swimmer wilfully disobeying or undermining the authority of any coach, disciplinary action will be taken against that swimmer/s.
A grievance can be raised by anyone against a Club member in relation to any comments, conduct or gestures which are considered by them to be insulting, intimidating, humiliating, hurtful, and malicious, degrading or in any other ways offensive.
This includes but is not limited to:
written or verbal abuse
physical assault, hitting, kicking, spitting, pinching, etc.
unwelcome remarks, jokes, innuendoes or taunting about a persons body, sexual orientations, gender, dress, age, race, religion, abilities, etc.
The Club cannot accept responsibility for swimmers outside Club activities. Swimmers should not arrive too early for training (no sooner than ten minutes) and should leave promptly (no later than fifteen minutes) when a Club activity has finished.Swimmers will be given one verbal warning regarding misbehaviour. Thereafter, parent(s) will be informed and will be required to attend a short meeting with the Club President and Head Coach, where the swimmer shall be present. Depending on the misdemeanor, a swimmer may be excluded from that session, suspended for a certain period of time, or indeed, in very worst situations, be asked to leave the Club.In becoming a member of the Club, it is understood that you agree to abide by the Constitution, Bye- Laws and Regulations of the Club. This Swimmers Code of Conduct is set down within the regulations of the Club. Disciplinary action may be taken if it is established that a Club Member has breached the Swimmers Code of Conduct.
